Treasure Planet (2002) is a truly underrated gem. An intelligent adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic, it combines aspects of steampunk and cyberpunk with pirate traditions, and keeps the overall intention of the story without losing too much to the fantasy. A great family film night choice.
The Pit and the Pendulum
This 1961 adaptation of the classic Edgar Allen Poe short story is a fantastic version. Wonderful cinematography and a sickening ending, this B-Movie has everything you want. Shocks, over exaggerated acting, unimaginable injuries that can be run off and one of the greatest performances by our hero, Vincent Price.
